Here's the latest!

Well, I hit the mother lode the other day and got some cross stitch magazines for really good price! I went through the ones I wanted to keep and I've listed the others under my goodies for sale. Take a peek and let me know which one(s) you're interested in -- I'm only asking $1 per copy plus the S&H.

My currently sorted stash has been sold BUT I'm going to be adding some more Light Effects and some Variations and maybe even some hand-dyed flossies to the sale board! Gotta finish the summer semester homework in all three classes first...LOL.

Can you believe...

that it's only 80 more days until Christmas?!? Where did the rest of the year go?!? For those of you shopping on my website (www.nannasgoodies.com) please be aware that the USPS is raising their rates for the holidays. I don't know yet if UPS and FedEx are planning to do the same but please understand that this is not my doing! I have absolutely no control over what they charge but unless you have a particular shipper in mind, I will do my best to choose the least expensive method. You might also keep in mind that I need plenty of "lead time" because apparently things are moving considerably slower than last year. Again, not my doing.

I still have my little Chiweenie Service Dog, Ben, who just recently turned 12 years old. I rescued him 3 years ago from an absolutely horrid situation and I've never regretted doing so since. I've also recently acquired four parakeets - as far as I can tell, they are three males and a female. Since I'm a huge fan of the TV program "Criminal Minds", I've named them Penelope, Spencer, Hotch, and Rossi. Some day soon I hope to add, JJ, Derek, and the rest of the crew...LOL

Come see me soon; I've got all kinds of new things to show you!!

The latest; the greatest!

For those of you who have checked out my website but found the shipping WAY too high, I have wonderful news! My computer guru son (who built the thing for me) is helping me to figure out how to charge shipping on weight rather than dollar amount. That will save everyone who purchases anything a BUNDLE. Give us until September 1 to have it done.

As a special "gift" to anyone who orders from my website from September 1 through December 1, I'll throw in a little something special (it's a surprise!). All you have to do is mention that you're a follower of my blog and there you have it!!

Shame on me!

I haven't done an update in almost a month! Sheesh!! Well, that's gonna change...LOL. Let's see, middle son took me to see Cowboys and Aliens yesterday. That's one movie I wouldn't mind PAYING to see again!!

My stepdad is doing pretty good now -- he's using his walker more and his wheelchair less. And he's eating better (he turned 80 in March and after we lost Mom last December, he sort of wilted). Since he and my soon-to-be-ex get along so famously, and my ex couldn't find work and his unemployment ran out, Dad fired the other caregiver (she was ripping him off royally!) and hired Stan to be his live-in caregiver. Talk about a win-win for the both of them! He pays Stan HALF of what he was paying that woman and of course, pays the bills and the groceries, so Stan actually has money to help me out!

My little muttster, Scrappy Doo is doing great for heading for the 9-year mark. Most of the time, he acts like he's 9 MONTHS old!

I'm planning to go ahead and go back to school in September and finish up my Associates' Degree once and for all!

Oh, and by the way, IF you become a follower to my blog, you can enter to win some really, pretty goodies (will announce them later).

Happy Summer!

Good afternoon, all! Well, I'm caught up enough with my schoolwork that I get to PLAY this weekend! I'm going to try to finish up the outlining on my Red Hat Sampler so I can frame it, but I'm also going to sew up a coupon holder/organizer thingy that hangs on the handle of your shopping cart so when I go grocery shopping, everything is right there. I'll show you guys a picture when it's all done.

Going to start some plastic canvas Barbie stuff for my oldest granddaughter; her birthday is the end of August and she LOVES Barbie!

That's "all the news and all the weather" here...how about you guys?

Oh, almost forgot...I'm going to have a drawing for a couple of cross stitch magazines on the 6th of August so that gives you two weeks to leave a comment that you'd like to win them. Make sure that I have your mailing info "somewhere" in case you win.

My color cart!

These cost $60 at JoAnn's but Craig's List is my best friend - I found mine for only $15!!!

It's been awhile...

Since I did an update -- shame on me! ROFL Well, I bought this really neat rolling cart with 10 shallow colored drawers -- they make them for scrapbooking supplies -- as a birthday present FROM me TO me. The best part is that they sell for $60 at the craft store and I got it for $15 from a lady who posted on Craig's List! Guess who's stitching supplies will be going in those drawers!

I want to wish all of you a very Happy 4th of July!!

"Samantha" is finished!

I used pale apricot seed beads in place of where the French knots were supposed to go. French knots drive me NUTS and besides, the beads add a dimension to the piece! I hope you like it.

Hot Ribbon Giveaway

Hot Ribbon Art

Hot Ribbon Art
GIfted by: Imagination International/By Junko

Review by Maria Nerius

It’s not always easy to glue or adhere ribbon to your project, but with Hot Ribbon Art makes it easier and far less messy. The product is iron-on ribbon that is machine washable. You can apply it to fabric, paper, and any other surface that can handle the heat of the iron.

Here's where this is at...

The design is called "Samantha" and when finished, will have the pink flower and a blue flower, as well as more greenery with it.

Thanks all of you!

Thanks for the kind posts and the compliment about Scrappy -- he thinks he's the cutest thing ever! LOL

I'll post pics of some of the stuff I'm working on as soon as I can.

Very first one!

Okay, I guess I did this right...so here goes...my very first posting! It's only 12:30 here and it's already up to 66 degrees so maybe, just maybe our summer has finally started! I'm finishing up a Red Hat cross stitch piece (down to the outlining part, which I HATE), working on a smaller flower piece, recently finished a fabric placemat and tablerunner set, working on a pair of crocheted socks for myself, working on a crocheted baby layette (like the ones I have on my website - www.nannasgoodies.com), and getting ready to start sewing a coupon organizer thingy to hang from the handle of the grocery cart as well as a fannypack for when I walk the dog.
